UNLV students are often criticized for being apathetic toward the university. But the 3,000 plus fans of the Facebook page SaveUNLV are anything but. Founded by UNLV alumnus and former professor Suken Shah, the SaveUNLV Facebook page aims to inform students and the Las Vegas community and aid in the fight to take back our school. The page launched in mid-January in reaction to the budget cuts UNLV would face. The page urged its fans to send letters to decision makers and publicized the fight to save our school. Most importantly, SaveUNLV has showed Nevada legislators that there is a loyal following that cares about the education of its community.
